Immuno-Chemotherapeutic Platinum(IV) Prodrugs of Cisplatin as Multimodal Anticancer Agents

For the longest time, the contribution of the immune system in chemotherapy has been disregarded as cytotoxic drugs are generally believed to be immunosuppressive [1–5]. Consequently, evaluation of new chemotherapeutic agents involved screening of drug candidates upon xenografted tumors in immunodeficient mice which neglects any possible immune contribution.
