Religiosity and spirituality in the context of intellectual disability: a systematic research review

Objectives Human spirituality/religiosity is an important dimension of human functioning. Its importance is rarely recognized in relation to people with intellectual disabilities (ID). There are many negative stereotypical beliefs about their spirituality, which stem from a lack of knowledge and experience. It is important to fill this cognitive gap using exploration, especially involving people with disabilities.
