摘要
Textiles are an essential part of our lives. During recent advancements in technology, textiles are going to be smart and intellectual material. Smart textiles can sense and adapt according to environmental changes and external stimuli. Smart textiles have excellent performance towards health care, the military, sportswear, etc. The extensive use of textiles has made a serious problem of waste accumulation. This issue draws attention to the biodegradability of these materials. There are certain methods of biodegradation which may be undergone by smart textiles. Another important thing is sustainability for the longer time use of smart textiles. The durability and recyclability of the products may decrease the problem of waste management and eco-unbalancing. Sustainability depends upon the material characteristics and ecological conditions. The smart textiles are assessed for life cycle analysis, which explains energy use by the material and environmental effects on each stage of the material.
