摘要
Photocatalysis is the intersection of photochemistry and catalytic science and generally refers to photochemical reactions in the presence of catalysts. Photocatalysis can convert solar energy into chemical energy, such as photo-hydrolysis of water to hydrogen production, photo-reduction of carbon dioxide, photocatalytic degradation of organic pollutants, etc., which shows great application prospects in the field of energy and environmental fields. Photocatalysis technology based on nanomaterials can achieve efficient utilization and conversion of solar energy, convert light energy into clean fuel and green chemicals, and achieve environmental remediation and purification at the same time. In this chapter, the basic principle, photocatalytic mechanism, catalytic materials, and application prospects of a variety of photocatalytic reactions are briefly reviewed for energy and environmental applications.
