Recent advances in the synthesis of benzo[b]furans

Benzo[b]furan structure is found in different naturally occurring and biologically active compounds. Benzo[b]furan derivatives are of interest due to their anticancer, anti-inflammatory, insecticidal, antiviral, antioxidant, and analgesic properties. In recent years, various effective synthetic approaches have been reported. In this chapter, we discuss recent advances in synthetic approaches to this important heterocyclic system and its derivatives for the period 2016–2023.
