Objective: Explore the regulative action of astragalus polysaccharide for intestinal dysbacteriosis in ulcerative colitis rat models. Methods:TNBS/ethanol liquid used to establish ulcerative colitis rat models, then rats were treated with astragalus polysaccharide. We tested intestinal flora and acetic acid, liver bacterial translocation between pre and post treatment, then had a statistical analysis. Results: Using TNBS/ethanol liquid to establish ulcerative colitis rat models was successful.astragalus polysaccharide could give a very effective adjustment for intestinal micro-ecological imbalance in ulcerative colitis rats.astragalus polysaccharide treatment 7 days later, bifidobacterium and lactobacillus were increased remarkably, while enterococcus and enterobacter were decreased markedly.Intestinal flora proportion was recovered to the normal level.Acetic acid was increased greatly, and liver bacterial translocation was in effective control. Conclusion : Astragalus polysaccharide with the regulative action for intestinal dysbacteriosis,is the ideal micro-ecological regulator, and its efficacy is better than Bifidobiogen-Livzon 's.
