Research on symptomatic elements of primary dysmenorrheal

Objective To analyze the proportion and combination of symptomatic elements of primary dysmenorrheal.Methods By carrying out epidemiological investigation into 295 cases of patients with primary dysmenorrheal syndrome,we studied every symptomatic elements and types of combination. The data were processed by modern medical statistics. Results By analyzing all the symptomatic elements of primary dysmenorrheal,we find 93% of the cases can be attributed to qi deficiency,91% to cold congealing,and these two types make up the majority of all elements. And these two factors are followed by blood stasis,blood deficiency,qi stagnation,kidney deficiency,yang deficiency,and damp obstruction in sequence. We find 31 types of combination of different symptomatic elements in total,among which the combination of deficiency and excess elements makes up 94. 6% of all cases,and the combination of solid elements makes up 5. 4%. The combination of deficiency of spleen and kidney combined with cold congealing and blood stasis is the mostly seen type. Conclusion The basic pathogenesis of the primary dysmenorrhea can be ascribed to qi deficiency and cold congealing. The disease can be located at the liver,kidney and spleen; the major symptomatic combination is congealing and blood stasis combined with other factors.
