摘要
Curcumin is a natural polyphenol, with a different name diferuloylmethane, found in Curcuma longa (turmeric) with remarkable antioxidant, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antiangiogenic, and antiplatelet aggregation properties. In recent years, several studies have verified that curcumin may benefit glucolipid metabolic disorders due to its various properties. Glucolipid metabolic disorders, major health threats to human life, is a series of diseases with the metabolic disturbance of glucose and lipid which are influenced by genetic, environmental, psychiatric, dietary, and other factors, including diabetes, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, obesity, metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease, and atherosclerosis. Here, we discusses the effects and underlying mechanisms on how curcumin alleviate the glucolipid metabolic disorders.
