The present study illustrates the doping of Zn and Mg in the HAp matrix synthesized using sol-gel process. The addition of two vital metal ions in HAp enhances both mechanical and biocompatibility of the HAp. The present investigation focuses on how ZnMg doping affects the phase, its morphology, shifting of the functional groups, mechanical, corrosion resistance, and dielectric properties. The Ca/P ratio was maintained between 1.60 and 1.63 as confirmed from EDS analysis. The clotting behaviour was studied using whole blood clotting assay method. The XRD and Raman spectra were used to determine different compound formation. The grain size increases after adding the Zn/Mg as observed from FESEM. However, the crystallite size decreases as calculated from XRD. Therefore, hardness increases after the addition of ZnMg in HAp. The ECA study in Ringer solution showed that addition of two different metals Zn & Mg in HAp improves the corrosion resistance. The impedance studies showed doped sample ZnMg/HAp has more polarization resistance compared to pure HAp and hence has more corrosion resistance. Moderate clotting behaviour was observed for this doped sample as well.
