Photo-electrochemical (PEC) oxygen evolution is the bottleneck of PEC hydrogen production, for which a cocatalyst is critical to enhance the efficiency. In article 1801505, Lun Pan, Ji-Jun Zou, and co-workers review the recent advances of cocatalyst design and fabrication for PEC oxygen evolution, analyze their roles and work mechanism comprehensively, and provide guidance for exploring more efficient cocatalysts.
