Strength experiment of soft soil solidified by composite powder of steel slag (SS) and ground granulated blast-furnace slag (GGBS) activated by caustic soda

The article uses SS and GGBS as the main raw materials to make composite powder, and NaOH as an activator to reinforce soft soil. Through the unconfined compressive strength test, the NaOH-stimulated SS-GGBS solidified soil was compared with the SS-GGBS solidified soil and cement-solidified soil. The study found that the strength of SS-GGBS solidified soil without NaOH does not change much with age, and is always a lower strength. NaOH can better excite SS-GGBS and greatly increase the strength of solidified soil. When the content is 5% to 6%, the excitation effect is the best. The strength of 5%NaOH-SS-GGBS solidified soil increases rapidly in the middle and late stages, and the strength of 28d 5%NaOH-SS-GGBS solidified soil is significantly higher than that of cement-solidified soil. The plasticity stage of 5%NaOH-SS-GGBS solidified soil is longer, and it should be larger when it reaches the peak, indicating better ductility.
