With the continuous development of higher education in China and the increasing population of college students, recyclable waste on university campuses has become an important component of urban household waste. This article leverages the advantages of today's popular WeChat mini programs and specifically combines the lifestyle habits of college students to provide users with a feasible solution for identifying what types of recyclable waste can be identified by taking photos of items. The user end of this system chooses WeChat mini program as the main platform, and uses Spring MVC, Spring, and Mybatis frameworks to develop the system management end. The database uses MySQL database. Image recognition is based on the ResNet-34 framework to develop image recognition algorithms. This system selects a Tomcat server for data exchange between the client and server. This study has a good driving and radiating effect on the classification and recycling management of recyclable waste in other social organizations.
