To explore better ablation effects and rules, and guide clinical applications, 355nm high-peak-power pulsed laser is being used to replace the 308nm excimer laser in the ablation of coronary thrombus like tissues. It is characterized with the compact structure, low cost and high stability and its higher peak power leads to a higher ablation efficiency. The microparticle size of pig blood clot, chicken tibia clot and pig sebum clot with thrombus-like components were mainly measured after the UV laser ablation. Tissue temperature rising during ablation was also concerned. The particle sizes of blood clot and chicken tibia samples were concentrated at 0.5-1 µm and 1-5 µm, respectively, and the sebum clots became oil droplets. The channel wall of ablation was smooth, and the tissue temperature rise was less than 5°C. 355nm high-peak-power pulsed laser can be effectively applied to coronary artery thrombosis, coexisting atherosclerotic plaques and calcified tissues.
