Copper-catalyzed and additive free decarboxylative trifluoromethylation of aromatic and heteroaromatic iodides

Low cost and widely available Cu₂O has been identified as a superior catalyst towards decarboxylative aromatic trifluoromethylations in the absence of ligands and additives.
