摘要
Despite recent advances, cancer remains a deadly disease to public health concern. Advances in the early diagnosis and treatment of cancer have raised the survival rate for all cancers. However, cancer is a leading cause for 9.6 million deaths worldwide in 2018. The development of new treatments and therapies is therefore urgently required, such as 2D nanomaterials emerged as the new kind nanomedicine for the application of combination treatment with photothermal therapy (PTT) to avoid the limitations of the conventional nanomaterials. Due to the unique features of 2D nanomaterials including excellent chemical, mechanical, and optical properties, shape, tunable size, biocompatibility, and biodegradability have attracted the scientific world in many fields of biomedical applications. Here, in the current chapter, we showed the advantages of 2D nanomaterials with synergistic PTT which leads to solve the unresolved issues arise from the conventional nanomaterials as well as with the monotherapy alone.
