This appears to be at variance with the commonly understood definition of Rasmussen aneurysm. A Rasmussen aneurysm is an inflammatory pseudoaneurysm in a branch of the pulmonary, not bronchial, artery that develops within the lung parenchyma as a result of being adjacent to a chronic tubercular cavity (2).It is important to distinguish a pseudoaneurysm arising from the pulmonary artery, the Rasmussen aneurysm, from a bronchial artery pseudoaneurysm. This is because the interventional route to approach both aneurysms is different. A Rasmussen aneurysm is approached through the pulmonary artery, whereas a bronchial artery pseudoaneurysm is approached by selective cannulization of the bronchial artery.Disclosures of conflicts of interest: R.G.
