GALAD Score for HCC Screening and Surveillance

We read with great interest, the study by Tayob et al1 published recently in your esteemed journal. This prospective cohort phase III biomarker study concluded that GALAD outperforms in terms of increased sensitivity when compared with the individual component biomarkers (AFP, AFP-L3, DCP) and their combination but with increase in false-positive results. These findings raise some concerns regarding the role of GALAD in current surveillance of HCC.
