摘要
A plastic surgery in the head and neck region requires a good understanding of the associated components and careful examination of the biomechanical innerworkings. The complexity of facial plastic surgeries is due to variable amount of local soft tissue, spanning nerves in the region, the complex physiological nature of the bones in the skull area, and the correlations of all these three critical elements that directly impact all possible biomechanical considerations in this region. In this work, we will have a review of the biomechanical considerations in the research literature. Even though we split this work into sections, these sections are all relevant and contain each other's information. The ultimate goal of this work is to cover basics of facial biomechanics with some details provided attained in the literature for more advanced biomechanical work.
