摘要
The corrosion of metals, ceramics, polymers, etc., is a serious scientific problem. For decades there has been a considerable amount of research worldwide dedicated to mitigating its effects on different industries and infrastructures. One of the most significant advances in controlling corrosion has been the development of effective monitoring techniques. Corrosion monitoring techniques allow a better understanding of its mechanism and lead to the design of suitable mitigation strategies. In this chapter, different corrosion monitoring techniques ranging from chemical and electrochemical to surface characterization methods were discussed with case studies. In addition, an overview of computational methods used for corrosion inhibition studies was reported.
