ABSTRACT In this paper, a straightforward preparation method of polyether modified silicone oil was proposed. For the first time, amino silicone oil ethoxylates (ASOE n ) with different ethylene oxide (EO) addition numbers were synthesized by the reaction of amino silicone oil and ethylene oxide, and characterized. The chemical structure was characterized by 1 H NMR, FT‐IR, and TAG. The whiteness, softness, bending stiffness, and hydrophilicity of cotton fabrics treated with ASOE n were tested. The results show that with the increase of EO chain, the cotton fabric treated by ASOE n has a certain improvement in softness, bending stiffness, and hydrophilicity. In addition, compared with the commercially available block polyether amino silicone oil, the cotton fabric treated with ASOE n had no significant difference in terms of whiteness and bending stiffness, and its hydrophilicity was even better than that of the cotton fabric treated with SSW. Through SEM characterization, the surface of the treated cotton fabric is smooth and smooth, and the adsorption principle of ASOE n on cotton fabric is inferred.
