Eugenol is widely used as bio-based raw materials, based on functional groups such as hydroxyl, methoxy, and allyl contained in the molecule that has van der Waals forces or chemical reactivity. In this paper, eugenol and 1,3,5,7-tetramethyl cyclo tetrasiloxane (D4H) were used as raw materials to synthesize a phenolic siloxane crosslinking agent (PSCA) by heterogeneous catalytic hydrosilylation method(ology). Low-modulus gels (LMG) were prepared by the volcanization of PSCA and vinyl terminated silicone oil (DVi-Si). A dual crosslinking network is fabricated through chemical bonding and physical interaction present in the LMG. The results show that the PSCA crosslinked LMG holds a low elastic modulus of 6.04 kPa and suitable elastic recovery property. It’s attractive to use LMG as a thermal conductive gel matrix for its superior flexibility, enhancing conformality and decreasing thermal contact resistance for future thermal management materials (e.g thermal conductive gel).
