摘要
A compact dual-band microstrip patch antenna with suppression of parasitic high order modes is presented. Firstly, a microstrip rectangular patch antenna working at the fundamental TM 01 mode is designed to create the first radiation band. Then, a U-shaped slot is utilized to create the second radiation band. The center frequencies of the first and second radiation bands can be adjusted independently. At last, each corner of the rectangular patch is chamfered and each non-radiation edge is cut by a rectangular region to suppress the radiation bands of parasitic high order modes. The proposed dual-band microstrip patch antenna has center frequencies of 2.4 and 3.5 GHz. The proposed antenna has merits of low profile, consistent radiation pattern, and suppression of parasitic high order modes.
