Carburizing has been widely applied to automotive parts and industrial machine parts because it can stably impart high functions such as high strength, high abrasion resistance, and high toughness with high productivity. Many technological improvements and new technological developments have been made to compensate or solve the disadvantages of carburizing. This section explains carburizing and steels applied to it, and also introduces evolved carburizing application technology and special steels for carburizing.
