The Dyeing of Cellulose Acetate with Disperse Dyes: VII—A Comparison with their Solubility in Organic Solvents

The well known parallel between the solubility of disperse dyes in certain organic solvents and their suitability for dyeing secondary cellulose acetate has been examined. It is shown that, at room temperature, a close relationship is obtained only by using a solvent containing an appreciable amount of water, e.g. 20% aqueous diethylene glycol diacetate (DEGDA).
