In this paper, the SiO2 aerogel heat-insulation coatings with high performance-price ratio are prepared by making use of SiO2 aerogel prepared under the normal temperature and pressure drying process as the functional filler. The effects of such factors as SiO2 aerogel amount, infrared powder, film thickness and emulsion varieties on coating performance are studied. As shown by the experimental results, SiO2 aerogel significantly can improve the heat insulation properties of coatings, and can be widely applied in energy-saving of buildings, industrial pipelines and chemical storage tanks.
