Emotional abuse and depression in people over 65 years: A cross-sectional study

•With the increase the elderly population in the world, elderly abuse has started to be among the topics to be investigated. •With the aging, elderly needs to cope with many psychosocial, physical and economic factors, and this suffers the elderly. •At the same time, abuse is a preventable problem that hurts, injures and causes psychosocial problems. •Concentration of most of the health professionals to child abuse has led to the neglect of elder abuse issue. •With this study, the questions of emotional abuse and depression levels, the factors affecting them were found.
