The micropolyhedral ZnS film on fluorine-doped tin oxide (FTO) glass was prepared as following: ZIF-8 film on FTO by dipping method and then directly sulfuretted by chemical vapour deposition. Compared with ZnS particles, ZnS micropolyhedrons demonstrated excellent electrocatalytic reduction from triiodide to iodide as a counter electrode due to ZIF-8 skeleton. The ordered polyhedrons achieved lower electron transport impedance than that of the chaotic particle structure. The assumption can be confirmed by the electrocatalytic reduction from triiodide to iodide.
