Artificial intelligence–assisted detection of colorectal polyps in Lynch syndrome

A young patient with a familial history of Lynch syndrome presented for colonoscopy. She had undergone colonic polypectomy at another hospital 1 year previously. A computer-aided detection system (EX-1, Fujifilm Holdings Corp, Tokyo, Japan) was applied during colonoscopy in our hospital. When polyps that arouse suspicion are detected by this system, the lesions are indicated by cyan squares (A). On observation of the highlighted areas, the false positive indicators disappeared (B). Blue-light imaging revealed a regular vessel pattern, and computer-aided detection indicated that the detected polyp was a neoplastic lesion with a yellow mark on the position map (C).
