摘要
Introduce: diabetes 2 is a metabolic disorder characterized by hyperglycemia and prolonged hyperglycemia leads to increased oxidative stress which associated with diabetes complications. The effect of exercise as well as herbs on free radicals is not well known. Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of 8 weeks aerobic exercise with Purslane consumption on peroxidant and antioxidants indicators (MDA, SOD, CAT) in women with type 2 diabetes. Methods:28 Sedentary women with type 2 diabetes participate in this study with age average of 50 years and with no history of regular exercise that divided randomly in 4 groups: Control (C), Exercise (E), Supplementation (S) and Exercise + Supplementation (E+S). Training programs was 60-75 minutes of aerobic exercise, 3 times in week with 5070% of maximal heart rate. S and E+S groups consumed 5gr of purslane seeds with lunch in3 hours before aerobic exercise and 2/5 gr purslane with diner. Blood samples were taken in two phases (before and after 8 weeks) following 12 to 14 hours of being fasted. The data was analyzed via paired-samples T test, ANOVA and Pearson regression in significant level P<0.05. Results: Resting levels of MDA decrease significantly but SOD and CAT levels increase significantly in E, S, E+S groups after 8 weeks (P<0/05). There was not any significant relationship between concentrations of these indicators in four groups. Conclusion: The results of this study showed that regular aerobic exercise with purslane consumption can improve peroxidant and antioxidant balance in woman with type 2 diabetes and prevent exercise-induced oxidative stress in diabetes.
