Advanced mechanisms and control of perioperative stress-induced hyperglycemia

Perioperative stress-induced hyperglycemia has been identified and used as an index to the existence and intensity of perioperative stress, as well as an important factor for the complication and mortality in perioperation. The participation of cytokines and the barrier of insulin bio-effect pathway have been the new research fields of the mechanism. There are extensive studies done on the control, but the results have limitations. The mechanism and control of perioperative stress-induced hyperglycemia will have spacious research prospects.
