The Effect of Intranasal Exposure to Mycoplasma synoviae and Infectious Bronchitis on Development of Lesions and Agglutinins

In recent studies with Mycoplasma synoviae the organism was recovered from the tracheas of apparently normal chickens (8). Invasion of the organism was indicated by specific antibody in the sera of infected birds, which also suggested that the most likely mode of transmission of M. synoviae was by the respiratory route. A study was made to determine if infection with infectious bronchitis virus (IB) would exalt an inapparent M. synoviae infection to systemic disease.
