Chemical constituents of the pericarp of Sphaerophysa salsula DC.

Objective To elucidate the structures of the constituents from the 95% ethanol( w =0 95)extract of the pericarp of Sphaerophysa salsula DC.Methods The solvent extraction together with column chromatography was used for isolation of chemical consitituents; and physico chemical characters and spectroscopic evidences were employed for structural identification.Result Five compounds were isolated,and identified as 4′,5 dihydroxy 3′,7 dimethoxyisoflavone (orobol 7,3′ dimethyl ether,Ⅰ),2′,7 dihydroxy 3′,4′ dimethoxyisoflavan (Ⅱ),kaempferol (Ⅲ), β sitosterol (Ⅳ) and daucosterol (Ⅴ).Conclusion CompoundsⅠ,Ⅲ are isolated from Sphaerophysa genus for the first time.
