Obesity is one of the main risk factors for type II diabetes and cardiovascular diseases, while Wnt signaling is one of the important signaling pathways implicated in multiple cellular differentiation and developmental processes.Here, we first describe adipose tissue formation, regulators for adipogenic differentiation, and the canonical and non-canonical Wnt signaling pathways.We then review the impact of Wnt signaling on adipose tissue formation as well as mitochondrial metabolism and inflammation, which are involved in obesity and diabetes development.
