Cancer survivorship refers to life after diagnosis, living well and optimizing "health of body and mind for life" (Brennan et al., 2008, p. 826). The five-year relative survival rate from early breast cancer in Australia improved from 73% in 1989 to 92% in 2022 (Breast Cancer Trials, n.d.). As survival rates improve post–cancer diagnosis, there is growing recognition of the need for supportive cancer survivorship care (Halpern et al., 2015; Porter-Steele et al., 2017) beyond active treatment, usually defined as surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy (All.Can, 2019).
