摘要
Proton exchange membrane (PEM) water electrolysis is a key mature technology of green hydrogen production, which has been used in various applications over many decades. PEM electrolysis systems demonstrate high efficiency and durability, fast start-up (including at subzero temperatures) and shutdown, are able to operate in a wide load range (5% to 100%), at increased pressure (up to several hundred bar), and are successfully integrated with power plants based on renewable energy sources with power consumptions up to several megawatts. Green hydrogen produced using PEM electrolyzers has been successfully implemented in a number of industrial-scale processes: food, glass, steel, and aluminum manufacturing; agricultural chemical production; grid stabilization; and so on. PEM water electrolysis systems fully meet the paradigms of decarbonization, digitalization, and decentralization of energy.
