Herein, single-atom iron doped carbon dots (SA Fe-CDs) were successfully prepared as novel electrochemiluminescence (ECL) emitters with high ECL efficiency, and a biosensor was constructed to ultrasensitively detect microRNA-222 (miRNA-222).
