Osteotomies About the Knee: Managing Rotational Deformities

Rotational deformity of the lower limbs often presents alongside other chief complaints and are easily missed without careful examination and imaging assessment. Particularly patients with patellofemoral subluxation or dislocation necessitate further evaluation. Advanced imaging with CT or MRI is helpful to understand the magnitude of deformity and guide the amount of correction needed. Torsional deformity correction can take place in numerous locations along the femur and tibia depending on the location of deformity and concomitant surgical goals. Specific surgical indications, osteotomy techniques, and methods of fixation are presented.
