To study the influence of different process parameters on the temperature change of CFRP and the formation mechanism of thermal damage. Based on experimental conditions, a physical model of laser processing CFRP was established in this paper. The results show that resin was more prone to phase change than carbon fiber during laser processing CFRP. The near temperature of the spot center is higher when the single pulse laser irradiation material. At the same time, the surface temperature field is approximately elliptical, which along the axial direction of the carbon fiber was more widely to result in worse thermal damage. The material temperature decreases rapidly after one pulse width, but the material temperature is still higher than the ambient temperature to form heat accumulation. It can accelerate material removal. The study guides the selection of process parameters.
