Total Hip Arthroplasty for Treatment of Canine Hip Dysplasia

Total hip arthroplasty (THA) using cemented and newer cementless protheses in dogs is discussed. A historical perspective is given followed by contemporary considerations for THA. Results of THA based on the literature and the authors' experience are presented. Surgical techniques for cemented and cementless THA are described. Preoperative and postoperative considerations and complications are emphasized.
