Summary Compared with conventional offshore streamer seismic data, Ocean bottom nodes (OBN) seis-mic surveys can achieve effective detection and imaging of complex high- or low-speed shield-ed structures, and provide seismic datasets with full azimuthal, long offset and high folds, which are superior to conventional offshore seismic surveys. In this paper, we present a case study of fracture prediction by using OBN seismic data. In the study area, the fracturing in the gas reservoir is the main controlling factor for oil and gas transport channels and high produc-tion. Influenced by tectonic effects, different scales of fracture are developed. For reservoir characterization, multi-attributes extracted from the post-stack seismic are used to describe the fault system, and a pre-stack anisotropic inversion technique is used to predict the fracture den-sity. Multi-method post-stack and pre-stack integrated fracture prediction techniques are per-formed on the OBN seismic data, and the result is very clear fracture reservoir characterization.
