摘要
Now that something is known about the ultrasonic ‘radar’ signals of over 200 of the 650 species of echolocating bats, it might be supposed that their sound-structures could offer a further clue to the difficult questions of bat evolution and classification. This does not seem to be the case, however, for closely related species may show very different acoustic specializations and many species adapt their behaviour to circumstances.
