Effect of Dye-Polymer Interaction on the Stress-Strain Characteristics of Dyed Polyethylene Terephthalate Fiber

The mechanical properties of undyed (treated under conditions identical to those of dyeing) and dyed polyester fibers, dyed with PNA (a model disperse dye), C.I. Disperse Yellow I, and Red 17 were investigated. It was observed that the presence of these dyes causes perceptible changes in the mechanical behavior of the fibers.
