With the increasing of the environmental pollution and ecological problems deteriorating by the industrial oily sewages, the super hydrophobic material for efficient oil-water separation has aroused the interest of many researchers. In this paper, we developed a facile, low cost and environment-friendly dipping-UV curing method to fabricate super hydrophobic mMoS 2 /PDMS coating on the surface of fabric for oil-water separation by using 3-methacryloxypropyl trimethoxysilane modified molybdenum disulfide (mMoS 2 ) and vinyl-terminated polydimethylsiloxane (V-PDMS). With the increasing of the mass ratio of mMoS 2 to V-PDMS, the roughness of the fabricated fabric increased. The obtained fabric exhibited outstanding water repellency with water contact angle (WCA) of 157° and sliding angle (SA) of 6°, respectively. The self-lubricating nature of mMoS 2 and the formation of a highly cross-linked network structure enabled the super hydrophobic fabric to be excellent in some physical and chemical resistance challenges that usually bothered similar technologies in practice, namely tolerance for high temperature, chemical liquids and severe abrasion. Furthermore, the fabric could be used as both absorbent and gravity-driven separation device for oil-water separation with high separation efficiency (>97%) and good reusability (separation efficiency at 96.5% after 25 recycle times). And it will have good development prospect in the fields of water remediation and the clean-up of industrial sewage emissions.
