Prognosis of metastatic disease in patients with and without Neurofibromatosis 1-assoicated Malignant Peripheral Nerve Sheath Tumors: A nationwide study
Background: The prognosis of metastatic malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors (MPNST) is generally poor. Several generic prognostic tools for soft tissue sarcoma (STS) have been developed. However, data on prognostic factors in specifically MPNST are limited in literature. This study examines the prognostic value of neurofibromatosis 1 (NF1) for the development of and survival after distant metastases (DM) in patients with MPNST.
