This paper presents the results of an experimental study of electrochemical nucleation under galvanostatic conditions. A combined potentiostatic-galvanostatic pulse method was used to obtain data on the time dependence of the number of nuclei N(t), the overpotential η(t) and the nucleation rate I(t). The experimental results for I(t) and η(t) are interpreted in terms of the atomistic theory of electrochemical nucleation.
