摘要
Abstract A transmission electron microscope study of rapidly precipitated hydrous thorium dioxide, ThO2 · nH2O, is reported. Bright- and dark-field micrographs, lattice images, and selected area diffraction suggest a model where small fragments of fluorite ThO2 are connected in a random manner into larger, porous agglomerates. X-Ray line broadening and surface area measurements are rationalized with the structural model.
