Isolation and identification of chemical constituents from leaves of Pithecellobium clypearia

Objective To isolate and identify the compounds from the Pithecellobium clypearia. Methods The compounds w ere separated and purified by column chromatography and their structures w ere confirmed by spectroscopic methods. Results Eight compounds w ere obtained from the aqueous extract of the P. clypearia. The structures w ere determined as lauroside D( 1),myricitrin( 2),quercitrin( 3),benzyl-O-β-D-glucopyranoside( 4),methyl gallate( 5),ethyl gallate( 3),methyl 2-O-β-D-glucopyranosylbenzoate( 7) and canthoside A( 1). Conclusions Compounds 1,4,7 and 8 are isolated from the Pithecellobium genus for the first time.
