摘要
Cathode material for lithium ion batteries LiNi0.5Mn0.5O2 is synthesized in air by mechanical activation-high temperature solid reaction method using LiOH·H2O,Ni(OH)2 and MnO2 as raw materials.The chemical composition,crystal structure and morphology of the resulted materials are characterized by AAS,XRD and SEM.The physicochemical changes of the raw materials during milling and calcination are studied with DSC and XRD.The experimental results show that the LiNi0.5Mn0.5O2 synthesized by this process has α-NaFeO2 types' layered structure.The mechanical activation of raw materials by powerfully milling is favorable for the formation of LiNi0.5Mn0.5O2.The optimized conditions to synthesize LiNi0.5Mn0.5O2 by mechanical activation-high temperature solid reaction method are high energy ball milling of the raw materials for 8 h and calcine the mixture at 950 ℃ for 20 h with 10%(mol) excessive lithium.
