摘要
Liquid biopsy, a technique used to improve general tumor diagnostic methods, is gradually attracting increasing attention. By determining the temporal and spatial complexity of tumors, it represents a promising solution to diagnose and monitor cancer. It is noninvasive or minimally invasive, sensitive, and convenient and provides specific, accurate, and personal molecular information. Herein, the features of liquid biopsy and its applications in oncology, with a focus on diagnosing early cancers, monitoring prognosis, and minimal residual disease and monitoring treatment responses of cancer, are discussed. Furthermore, an overview of some of the challenges and prospects to translate liquid biopsy into clinically applicable tools for diagnosis and monitoring of cancer is presented.
