F-actin organization and target constriction during primary macrophage phagocytosis is balanced by competing activity of myosin-I and myosin-II

Analysis of forces produced during phagocytosis of deformable targets by primary macrophages shows that phagocytic force production and actin distribution in these cells is determined by a balance between myosin-I and myosin-II activity.
